The 2014 International Women’s Economic Summit will take place at the AT&T University - Las Colinas Campus, 6301 Colwell Blvd, Irving, TX. Hosted by Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women and AT&T.
Join IEEW and learn about the work with PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS(r) Afghan and Rwandan women entrepreneurs and hear from women in politics, as well as women advocacy leaders. The scheduled events include two days of educational and business related sessions.
• Dr. Kevin Fegan kicks off Monday morning with an inspiring and memorable session on sustaining success by staying focused, enthusiastic, creative and adaptive even when the going gets tough.
• Monday’s Luncheon Keynote is Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Rita Aragon, Oklahoma Secretary of Veteran Affairs with her talk “Being a Wonder Woman in a Superman’s World.”
• Jody Thomas, Executive Director for the National Foundation for Women Legislators will lead an all-star panel of association executives and women in politics. As IEEW Founder / CEO, Dr. Terry Neese says, “If you run a business and you’re not in politics, then politics will run your business.”
• Pam Pryor, an Independent Government Affairs and Communications Specialist who has worked for Senator John McCain and a senior adviser to the Republican National Committee, will cover public policy engagement with a savvy panel of women.
• Tuesday’s Luncheon Keynote is Anita McBride, Executive in Residence, Center for Congressional & Presidential Studies at American University’s School of Public Affairs with her talk, “Maintain Dialogue for Success & Momentum.”
You will also hear from our Afghan and Rwandan 2014 Graduates that are creating diverse business opportunities within their countries and carrying forward the PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS(r) mantra by employing and training their fellow countrymen and women, as well as advocating for others. American Women Business Owners, supporters of the PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS(r) program, share their experience as mentors to the brave women from Central Asia and Africa.
