IEEW and the PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS® Program.
- We have selected our students for the 2015 classes in Afghanistan and Rwanda. They are in their fourth week of a ten-week program.
- We have students in various business fields such as Construction and Logistics to Salons and Sports Centers.
Last month, we celebrated National Mentorship Month.
- We ended National Mentorship Month with an event held at the Historic Farmer’s Market in Oklahoma City. We had food trucks and a mobile shopping boutique, made out of an airstream trailer! It was a fun event and 20% of all the proceeds went to IEEW.
Tomorrow, I am attending the U.S. Women’s Afghan Council (USAWC) meeting in Dallas, TX.
- The USAWC’s mission is to mobilize public and private sector resources to empower Afghan women. Secretary Hillary Clinton and Mrs. Laura Bush are honorary co-chairs of the USAWC and continue to be a part of the council.
- First Lady of Afghanistan Mrs. Rula Ghani will be in attendance this week. I am very excited to meet and talk with her about the PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS® program and the wonderful work that she is doing to empower the women of Afghanistan.
