Chantal is no stranger to breaking through stereo-types and being her own woman. She has always found herself entering and succeeding in male dominated industries. “Doing business most women don’t do, providing good work and service has made her money.” It’s no wonder then that Chantal is the first woman owned garage in Rwanda and President of the National Association of Garage Owners. Chantal is married to Wycliffe and together they have 4 children.
Chantal’s car accident might have served as a blessing in disguise. After lengthy repairs to her car for over 4 months, Chantal decided SHE could provide not only better, but faster service and opened Quick and C Garage. “As a woman, mother of 4 kids, and wife to a husband who works out of the country—it’s like being a single mother. So taking care of my home, making sure that I take my children to school and picking them up was difficult without a car. I decided to open a business to solve my problem and serve others who have the same problem.” Chantal is the only woman in Rwanda who owns a garage, and she leads the competition because she owns the only spray booth—used in painting cars and trucks. She plans to sell paint and all the materials due to their demand in Kigali.
