Following Taliban rule in 2006, Homa Usmany was one of six to attend the first school for girls, Khandahar Institute of Modern Studies, despite the disapproval of many. A few years ago, Homa started her own clothing company selling uniforms, but she struggled to get ahead. At a friend’s urging, she joined PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS® in 2015. The mentorship portion which paired her with an American entrepreneur in her field, transformed her business. Today, Homa is running her successful business, earning her law degree. In a piece for the Huffington Post recently, Homa wrote, “I believe that if every person takes even a small step toward bringing positive change for themselves…it’ll contribute a big change for tomorrow.”
