Octa Muhirwa is one of our students selected for 2015 PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS® Program. She is an amazing woman who has overcome many personal challenges to be where she is today. Through everything, she has held on to her positive attitude and continues to strive for success with her business of 10 years.
OC Traders is a dairy farm, owned and operated by Octa and her staff of 6 full time employees. She currently produces and sells cow’s milk to families, as well as, schools and hospitals and hopes to produce cheese in the near future. She’s passionate about her farm because she sees the positive impact in her community. “Supplying families with milk, seeing its effect on their children and seeing them grow is such a joy—including my own children.”
Barbara Crain of Wagon Creek Creamery in Helena, Oklahoma has served as Octa’s E-mentor since January offering her advice and assisting her in the development of a business plan. E-mentorship is an exciting facet of PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS® and in this case, linking Helena, Oklahoma with Kigali, Rwanda in a partnership of women helping women become entrepreneurs.
