Dianne Dusaidi was born and semi-raised in Toronto, Canada. She first moved to Rwanda when she was 13 years old (a tricky age for change!) and spent her formative years in Kigali. Although Dianne was lucky enough to have been educated in various countries and therefore, have different cross-cultural experiences ie. High School in Rwanda, Undergraduate in Canada, Masters in the Netherlands— she says, “sadly, I only speak one language fluently!”
Dianne’s professional career revolved around investment promotion at first and although she enjoyed it, it wasn’t her passion. She felt she could be doing so much more to help the development of her home country, Rwanda. This is when she took a giant leap of faith and established Legacy45 Entertainment with her sister, Chantal. Their goal was to create a production company that focused on inspiring, informative, and educational stories featuring Rwanda and all of Africa.
Today the flagship program for Legacy45 is “Rise and Shine Rwanda” which airs Monday through Friday from 7:00 – 8:00am and covers a wide range of topics from news, sports, business, and lifestyle. In just two months, Dianne and her show received over 69,000 views on their Youtube channel, over 1,700 Facebook likes, and almost 700 Twitter followers!
“I am passionate about my business because media reflects reality. With Rise and Shine Rwanda I get to showcase all of the amazing things that are happening in Rwanda”, says Dianne. In five years she would like to take her company beyond the Rwandan borders and produce more drama series, comedies, and films.
This July 7, Dianne and 21 other women entrepreneurs from both Rwanda and Afghanistan will arrive for Leadership Development in Dallas, Texas. One of the highlights of Leadership Development is when each woman is paired with a U.S. businesswoman in a like industry for a 3-day Mentorship Experience. Dianne will be flying to California to work alongside Sonu Ratra, Founder and President of Akraya Inc. Immediately following the Mentorship Experience, all students will return to Dallas, Texas for the International Women’s Economic Summit and Graduation July 17.
We invite you to join us for both the Summit and Graduation and to meet Dianne and all the other women from Rwanda and Afghanistan. This will truly be a multi-cultural experience embracing diversity and working toward peace through business. For more information on how to register for the Summit and Graduation.
