Through this relationship, the International Women’s Economic Summit participants get to hear the likes of Jessica Abensour and Carey Tarbell talk about branding and communication.

For the 2015 Summit, Jessica Abensour, Senior Vice-President at VOX Global, led a hands-on workshop on how to build your personal brand – who you are. Jessica explained that a personal brand was more than your logo or tagline and more than your set of beliefs or what you stand for. Your personal brand controls how others see you, tells people about any unique skills you have and differentiates you from the crowd. Jessica encouraged each person to think of themselves as a famous brand and then figure out what key words define you. From there, you can start to create your own mission statement and brand awareness.
Later in the day, Carey Tarbell, a VOX Global partner, led us to the next steps – How to Present Your Personal Brand. Carey’s workshop dealt with effectively communicating who you are and what you do, how to properly introduce yourself and also inspire those around you. Carey’s number one rule about introducing yourself is simple – it’s all about your audience! What are they interested in and what do they need? These are all great tools and reminders for those who think they have it down.
