Chantal Nyirandama: Reaching for the Stars

Recently, 2016 PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS® grad Chantal Nyirandama earned 2-star status for her evolving business, Nice Garden Training Center, from the Rwanda Development Board. Chantal’s long-term goal is to become the best choice in Gicumbi for temporary lodging. She is well on her way! 

As the wife of a priest and mother of four, Chantal found it difficult to raise her family and do the social work she was trained to do. Her passion is to educate young people in her community. After much thought and sacrifice, Nice Garden Training Center was conceived. The Center caters to tourists and organizations in need of a place to hold their events and conferences, with ten rooms that can sleep up to sixteen guests and a conference center that seats 100. With the extra income from tourism, Chantal is able to train young girls at Nice Garden for the workforce that will contribute to the future of her beloved country, Rwanda.

After earning the PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS® certification, completing a business plan with a clear picture of the future of Nice Garden, and attending Leadership Development in the USA, Chantal returned home to beautiful Gicumbi will a renewed sense of her dream. It is Chantal’s determination and the ideas she took with her from the USA that led to improvements in quality, training a professional staff, and adding some amenities to the property that led to the Rwanda Development Board certifying her and Nice Garden Training Center as a two-star property. This is one avenue that will lead her to even greater success.

Chantal continues to play an active role in the Alumnae Association PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS® Rwanda. She embraces the third and most important component of being a PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS® graduate, paying it forward in her community by uplifting other women and young girls through her work and her service to future students of the Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women.
