Bio Information

Jesse has always had the ability to overcome obstacles. When she was young, she was told she could only enter two fields of study that were popular for women: arts or social studies. Jesse broke down that barrier by not only entering into Mathematics and Physics, but graduating at the top of her class and receiving a scholarship to Kigali Institute of Science and Technology.

Soon after graduation- with limited funds and a “make-shift” office, Jesse opened her own business of mobile technology. Today, as her clientele steadily grows she believes “obstacles arise, but they are a source of motivation” and that “a woman can achieve anything, as long as they stay focused and disciplined.”

Business Information

Sail Ltd. was founded in August 2011 by 5 students who had been involved with Massachusetts Institute of Technology training in mobile application development. With the desire to keep pace with today’s technology, Sail Ltd. develops mobile and web applications as well as websites. Their goal is “to be one of the leading mobile applications companies in East Africa, and in Africa more generally.”

“The most rewarding thing about mobile technology, is when you witness a mother locate a pharmacy and finding medication for her sick child using a mobile application that I helped develop. This makes me even more passionate when I see people’s lives eased with simple technology created by Sail Ltd.”

By participating in the PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS ® Program, Jesse hopes to obtain better marketing, operations, and accounting skills to make her a more successful business woman.

Jesse needs a mentor for the 2013 PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS® program, if you are interested in mentoring Jesse, or any of our other students, please email [email protected].
